Marcelle Hatchel, MA CLS
Pleasant Grove, Utah

What is your role with BioTek?
Lab tech.
What do you like most about working with BioTek?
No matter what state your in, no matter what lab your working for, we all are doing the same work. We have a fluidity in this company that no one else has.
What are your 3 goals each week?
Skin test 2 patients at least per day. Impact one person's life positively. Educate and Convert!
What has been your favorite patient success story?
I don't think I have a favorite story, but I do get very excited when pt's tell me their asthma or skin symptoms have improved.
What piece of advice would you give to other BioTek Allergy Techs?
Conversions mean nothing if your patients never want to see you again.  Be sincere in your speech, be honest with your methods and connect with your patients.  Remember one thing about them, their favorite team, that they like to read books, that they have 6 kids and 2 are adopted; anything, but just remember one thing.
What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not at work?
I'm big into live concerts. I love a lot of underground up-in-coming artists so anytime I can catch one of their shows its always an amazing experience.  I also love long road trips, catching some good waves boating or surfing, and if im being 100% honest, I have binge watching parties at my house for me and my friends.
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
Dark chocolate sea salt covered almonds from Trader Joe's
If you could meet anyone, who would it be and why?
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.  His philosophy on life, happiness, and compassion is something that I've always loved and strive to emulate.
What is something that only a few people know about you?
I used to dance competitive Hula and Tahitian.... Great now more people know! (face-palm) lol
If you could take a vacation anywhere, where would you go?
Tonga.
What are some additional fun facts about you?
I have a Diet coke addiction.
I love Rugby and American Football.
I get hurt every year on Memorial Day, sometimes just by walking.
I once met Chef Gordon Ramsey and sounded like a stuttering super-fan until I passed out, not my finest moment.
I think Alligators are adorable and I almost daily say things like "Don't you just want to snuggle it? Look at its cute little face!"
I have a rescue puppy named ESPN. if we clone her, her name will be ESPN 2.
I was once told that if nursing didn't work out for me I could always be a stand up comedian.
